Kitchen appliances and utensils: work surface, a set of dishes of different sizes, a tablespoon, stove, frying pan, paper towels.
Ingredients
Yeast dough | 1,5 kg |
Jam | 500 g |
Vegetable oil | 100-200 ml |
Flour / Starch | if necessary |
Step cooking
- We prepare 1.5 kg of yeast dough: it can be prepared with your own hands or purchased ready-made. We thoroughly crush it and divide it into portions. From this volume, approximately 25 small workpieces will be obtained.
- We roll out each of the blanks to the state of a flat cake 3-5 mm thick. In the middle we put 1 tbsp. l any fruit or berry jam and carefully fasten the edges. If your jam is liquid, add flour or starch to it so that it does not leak from the pie when frying.
- Turn the pies upside down and leave them for proofing for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour 100-200 ml of vegetable oil into a deep frying pan and warm it thoroughly. We check the oil temperature with a strip of dough - the oil should bubble up. Fry pies on each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. If you suddenly pour a little oil, and in the middle of the pies there is a pale strip, fry them also on the sides for 1-2 minutes.
- We leave ready-made pies on paper towels so that they absorb excess oil. Let the products cool down a bit before serving them to the table, because the jam is very hot. Serve with icing sugar, hot drinks, fruits or an additional portion of jam.
