Step cooking
- At the very beginning, carefully clean the pike from the scales, cut off the head, tail and all the fins. Cut the fish’s belly and clean all the entrails from it. If you find caviar, you can also fry it. Rinse the pike well under cold running water. It is not necessary to throw out the fish’s head; you may want to make a broth out of it.
- Cut the pike carcass into portioned slices approximately 3 cm thick and put them in a bowl.
- Salt and pepper the fish to taste, mix everything well with your hands so that it is saturated.
- Pour about 3-4 tbsp into the pan. l vegetable oil and heat it. Pour 150-200 g of flour into a flat plate. Dip each piece of fish well on all sides in flour and put them in a pan.
- Fry the pike over medium heat. Fry each side for 5 minutes, gently turn over with a fork or spatula.
- Then turn each piece on its side and fry for 2 minutes, also the second side, so that the fish is well-fried.
- When ready, put the fish in a bowl and cover it with a lid. If there is still fish, dip in flour and put in a pan. In the meantime, peel 2-3 onions, cut into medium-sized half rings.
- Put in a pan on the side of the fish and fry until golden brown. If desired, slightly salt the onions and be sure to mix when frying. You can fry onions with fish, and if you want, separately in the same oil.
- When ready, put the onions in a dish of fried fish.
Ready fried fish can be served by laying on a lettuce leaf and garnishing with greens. As a side dish, rice with vegetables, mashed potatoes or any other your preferences are well suited. To emphasize the taste of delicate fried pike, use special sauces for fish, or maybe you yourself cook them.
