Step cooking
- Peel and onion (2 pieces) and cut into thin half rings.
- Rinse the chicken liver (600 grams), remove excess films and dry. Put the liver in a bowl of salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the liver with milk (200 ml) at room temperature, mix with a tablespoon and leave to stand for a quarter hour (15 minutes).
- After 15 minutes, put the pan on the fire and pour vegetable oil (30 ml) into it to warm it.
- Remove the chicken liver from milk and roll in flour (150 grams). Put the liver breaded in flour in the heated oil and fry on each side for 2 minutes over medium heat.
- When the second side is fried, put onion chopped in half rings on top and fry for another 2 minutes.
- After two minutes, stir the contents of the pan with a spatula and add sour cream, evenly distributing it over the surface of the liver. Cover the pan and simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.
- Peel the garlic (1-2 cloves), pass through a press and add to the pan before putting out the stew.
- Mix everything well, turn off the stove and leave the dish to stand under the lid for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, the fried chicken liver with onions in sour cream is ready, it can be served.
Decoration methods and serving options
Serve hot fried chicken liver with onions in sour cream, immediately after cooking. Repeated heating of the dish is not recommended, as the liver will lose its taste and healthy qualities.
It is convenient to serve a dish with a side dish. Whole or sliced potatoes, mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, bulgur, buckwheat or millet are suitable as a side dish. In the winter season, you can serve various pickles, carrots or beets in Korean style for chicken liver with onions in sour cream, and in the summer, a salad of fresh vegetables seasoned with olive oil and lemon juice is suitable.
