- According to a similar recipe, it is enough to simply cook a delicious green lentil, while there is no need to soak it all night or for several hours. Before cooking, it is necessary to sort out the lentils, as often any garbage that spoils the finished dish comes across in it.
- We shift 250 g of the transferred lentils into a deep bowl and wash it several times under running water. The water should be cold or cool, because in a warm liquid, lentils can begin to soak quickly. Pour 500 ml of water into a small pot. You can independently increase or decrease the portion of green lentils. It is important to consider that the ingredients should be used in a 1: 2 ratio (lentils: water).
- In the water we add washed green lentils and put on a large fire. After boiling the liquid, reduce the heat to a minimum and cover the pan with a lid. Cook green lentils for 40-45 minutes. If you want softer lentils, increase the cooking time to 1 hour, or even more. In the process of boiling, it is important to ensure that the lentils do not dissolve much and do not turn into porridge. And also control that the dish does not burn. This happens if the lentils are boiled over medium heat and the liquid evaporates quickly.
- Immediately salt it is not required. A dish can generally be eaten without adding salt. But if you wish, salt a little lentils 5 minutes before being cooked. After 40-45 minutes, the dish is ready.
- Transfer the lentils into a dish and use as a side dish. Green lentils are quite useful and can be served on their own, with fresh vegetables, a patty or other main course. If you want to give the finished dish a more delicate taste, you can add a small piece of butter, then mix the lentils thoroughly. You can also add juiciness and diversify boiled lentils by adding carrots, onions, tomatoes and some other vegetables to it.
