- Melon pulp - 900 g
- Sugar - 720 g
- Water - 150 ml
Step cooking
- We wash the melon under running water, remove excess moisture from the skin with a paper towel, cut in half, remove the core with seeds, cut the flesh and cut it into small cubes. As a result, we should get 900 g of pulp.
- Pour 150 ml of water into a 3-liter pan, put it on a big fire, add 720 g of sugar and pour a spoon until all the crystals are dissolved.
- When the sugar has dissolved, turn off the fire, add the flesh of the melon into the syrup, mix well and leave for 2-3 hours.
- After 2-3 hours, put the pan on a large fire, mix the melon in syrup, bring to a boil, then remove from heat, mix again, cover and leave to infuse for 8-9 hours.
- After 8-9 hours, stir again, put on a big fire and wait for the melon to boil in the syrup, turn off the fire, stir again and leave to insist under the lid for 8-9 hours. In a similar way, boil our jam 2 more times. Then put the pan on the fire again, bring to a boil over a large fire, then reduce the heat and cook, stirring regularly, until the jam thickens.
- While the jam is cooking, we sterilize the jars, then lay the finished jam on them, tightly screw the lid or roll it with a key, leave it to cool completely, and then send it to a dark, cool place for storage.
Important! Given the fact that melon perfectly absorbs harmful substances, you need to carefully consider the choice of this product. The first thing you should not forget about is that it is best to buy it away from gassed places and large industries. There should be no signs of damage or signs of damage on the surface. The tail of the melon should be dry, and when you tap the surface a dull sound should be heard. If the seeds inside are empty or dark brown, it means that harmful fertilizers were used to accelerate growth and increase the shelf life, in which case it is better to completely abandon the purchase.
