Ingredients
- Chokeberry - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1.5 kg
- Apples - 3 pcs.
- Water - 4.5 L
- Citric acid - 1 tsp.
- Cinnamon - 1 tsp.
Step cooking
- Pour 0.5 liters of water into the stewpan.
- Add 0.5 kg of sugar, stir.
- Bring to a boil. The syrup is ready.
- Pour 1.5 liters of water into another pan, put on fire and bring to a boil.
- Pour 1 kg of chokeberry into boiling water and, from the moment of boiling, blanch the berries for 3 minutes.
- We pour water from the pan, pour cold water into the berries - about 1.5 liters. Leave for 5 minutes.
- We extract the berries from the water and pour in the syrup. Set the pan with berries on the fire, bring the mass to a boil, boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, close the lid and leave for 6 hours.
- At the end of this time, pour 1 kg of sugar into a saucepan with berries, gently stir and set on fire.
- From the moment of boiling, cook over low heat for half an hour.
- In another pan, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
- We clean one apple, leave two more with the peel. Cut apples into thin slices.
- Dip apple slices in boiling water and boil until soft - it takes about a minute.
- We take the apples out of the water and lay in the jam, which has already been boiled for 30 minutes. Mix gently and cook for 25 minutes.
- Add 1 tsp. citric acid. Also pour 1 tsp. cinnamon, cook another 5 minutes.
- We pack the finished jam in pre-sterilized jars, roll up, wrap with something warm. Leave to cool for 10 hours. After this, jars of jam are recommended to be kept in the refrigerators for four days. After these manipulations, the jam will be stored for a very long time.
