Kitchen appliances and utensils:work surface, rolling pin, tablespoon, knife, baking sheet, parchment paper, oven, stewpan or a small saucepan.
Ingredients
Product | amount |
Puff pastry | 1 pack (500 g) |
Sugar | 150-200 g |
Chocolate | 100 g |
Butter | 50 g |
Step cooking
- We lay puff pastry on the working surface: you can cook it yourself or buy it ready-made. Using a knife and rolling pin, we give it the shape of a thin rectangular layer.
- Using a tablespoon, evenly sprinkle the entire sheet of dough with sugar, and then press it with your hands or a rolling pin into the dough.
- Then gently reduce the edges of the sheet to its center, smoothing the bend.
- Again, sprinkle the resulting sheet with sugar, squeeze it and wrap the edges.
- We repeat the procedure until a peculiar roll of dough is obtained.
- We cut the roll into portioned pieces 1 cm thick. About 15 pieces are obtained from a standard sheet of puff pastry.
- We do not lubricate the baking sheet, but only cover it with parchment paper. We spread the future "ears" at a distance of 3-4 cm from each other, because when baked, they will stretch very much and change shape.
- We bake them in a preheated oven to 210ºС for 20-25 minutes. Ready-made ears should be well browned and look like a store. We take them out of the oven and let cool at room temperature.
- In a stewpan or a small metal pan, put 100 g of dark chocolate (although any other is suitable) and 50 g of butter. We heat the ingredients to a liquid state. The same can be done in a water bath or in the microwave.
- As soon as the “ears” and the chocolate mass cool slightly, dip the ears in chocolate and serve. They are perfect for tea, coffee, milk, juice and other drinks.
