Ingredients
Puff pastry | 600 g |
Raisins | 100 g |
Dried apricots | 100 g |

Milk | 500 ml |
Step cooking
- First cook custard. To do this, pour the milk into a saucepan and put on fire. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs and sugar, beat them well with a whisk or a fork.
- There we add a bag of vanilla sugar. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the flour in parts. Stir the cream and add the hot milk in a trickle.
- Pour the resulting mass back into the ladle and cook over medium heat until cooked. Stir all the time so that the cream does not curl and lumps do not form.
- Pour boiling water over raisins and leave to insist. When the custard is ready, it must be well cooled. To do this, it can be put in a bowl of cold water. In this case, it is advisable to cover the cream with a film on top so that the top does not take on a crust. 10 minutes after you pour boiling water over the raisins, put them on paper towels and pat them dry to make them completely dry.
- Cut dried apricots into small pieces. Dried apricots do not need to soak.
- We roll out the first piece of dough and with a cooled cream we lubricate it with a sufficiently thick layer. We retreat two centimeters on one side of the dough and do not lubricate this part with cream.
- Sprinkle dough with raisins filling.
- Wet the edge of the dough, which was not covered with cream, with water. We wrap the roll and connect it on the edge, which is moistened with water. Be sure to wrap the roll so that the seam is at the bottom. Repeat the same with the second layer of dough. Roll it, grease with cream, add dried apricots and roll it into a roll.
- We hide both rolls in the freezer for 30 minutes. When they freeze, it will be easier to cut them. We cut the rolls into equal parts, put them on a baking sheet covered with foil or parchment paper.
- Grease each roll with a beaten egg. We put the baking sheet in the oven, heated to 190 degrees.
- Bake rolls for 30 minutes. French buns are ready and you can serve them to the table! Enjoy your meal!
