Step cooking
- Let's start with vegetables first. We peel 3 potato tubers, rinse under running water, cut into small cubes, about 2 cm each.
- Then peel the carrots, rinse well, cut into thin rings. Lovers of fish soup advise chopping vegetables coarsely, but this is all individual. You can independently choose the size and shape of the sliced vegetables.
- We send a pan to the stove, pour 2.5 liters of water into it, add chopped potatoes and carrots. Cover, wait until it boils.
- After boiling, remove the appeared foam.
- We clean the onion, rinse it and send the whole to the pot with vegetables. Here we also send bay leaf, black pepper and allspice, half a tablespoon of salt. Mix well, cover, leave to cook for 20 minutes on low heat.
- At this time, prepare the fish. We are preparing the fish soup from pike, so we need a carcass of such a fish weighing about 800 g. We clean it from scales, cut it, remove the insides. We remove the gills from the head, cut the carcass in portions. Remember that from the head of the fish gills must be removed necessarily and carefully. If this is not done, then the broth will turn dark, a lot of foam will appear, an unpleasant aftertaste may occur.
- After 20 minutes, remove the whole onion from the soup, add pieces of pike. We cover the pan with a lid, after boiling, make the fire small, remove the foam that appears, cover with a lid, boil for another 15 minutes.
- After this time the ear is ready, you can serve. When serving, pour the ear into portioned plates, sprinkle chopped parsley on top. In addition, serve bread according to your preference or crackers made from white or rye bread.
