Step cooking
- Thoroughly clean seven to eight pollock fish. Be sure to cut off the heads and tails, clean the insides and carefully cut out all the fins.
- Then we thoroughly wash each small fish, wash the entire black film and cut into three parts.
- We dry pollock from excess water, salt to taste and season with a mixture of fish.
- Peel 1-2 onions from the peel, wash and cut into small cubes.
- Peel 1-2 carrots and rub on a coarse grater.
- We put a non-stick frying pan on the fire and pour 20 grams of vegetable oil.
- When the oil is heated, put all the pieces of fish tightly into each other in a pan, add chopped onions and grated carrots.
- From above, grease everything with 30 grams of sour cream and fill everything with 100 milliliters of warm clean water. Pour gently on the sides so that all the ingredients do not mix prematurely.
- Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the fish for 35-40 minutes. The readiness of the dish can be checked by the state of the carrot, if it became soft, then you can turn off the stove.
- When the dish is ready, put it portionwise on plates and serve on the table with or without garnish.
Decoration methods and serving options
- Loose white or brown rice, or the usual familiar mashed potatoes, is perfect as a side dish for this fish dish.
- Also, tender fish with gravy will be in perfect harmony with buckwheat or pasta made from durum wheat.
- Braised pollock can also be served as an independent dish. And to make it more fragrant and spicy, immediately before serving, sprinkle it with chopped herbs.
- Feel free to complement the resulting dish with hot sauces. They will add spice to the fish.
- You can complement the stewed fish with sliced fresh or pickled vegetables.
- You can also replace sour cream and water with heavy cream. A special taste will be given to the dish by a home-made dairy product.
