Step cooking
- Boil 1 liter of water in a saucepan. Salt (1.5 tsp). Peel 6 medium potatoes, wash, cut into cubes (6-8 parts), dip in boiling water and cook for 7-10 minutes until half cooked. Drain the water.
- Peel 1 large carrot, wash and grate on a coarse grater. Peel one onion, wash, cut into rings, and then into 4 parts.
- Pour 1.5-2 tbsp. Into a stewpan or deep pan. l vegetable oil, heat, put onions with carrots, fry until soft.
- Peel half the cabbage from the top leaves, rinse, cut into squares or chop (it is very convenient to do this with a peeler - the slicing is thin, even) and send to the fried vegetables.
- Stir, salt, add spices to your liking. If the cabbage is not juicy enough, add 0.5 stack. water. Simmer under the lid over low heat until almost cooked (20-25 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Put the potatoes to the cabbage, mix gently, reduce the heat to a minimum and simmer another 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are fully cooked. Make sure vegetables are not burnt.
You can invent options for this dish yourself, complementing the list of ingredients at your discretion. For example, add fried mushrooms or chopped smoked sausages to the cabbage along with potatoes.
Serve this dish as an independent, with homemade pickles. And you can garnish them with schnitzel or fried ribs, sausages or baked fish - there are many delicious options, it is worth a try.
