- In a deep bowl we send a glass of sugar, three eggs, and beat with a whisk. If desired, you can beat with a blender or mixer. Beat until the mass becomes homogeneous and bubbles appear.
- We send the stewpan to the fire, put 50 g of butter in it, let it melt completely.
- We send the melted butter to the egg-sugar mixture, mix well.
- Pour 200 g of sour cream into a separate plate, add 1 tsp to it. soda, mix.
- Then we send sour cream to the total mass and mix.
- Sift through a sieve 260 g of flour, portionwise send it to the mixture, mix everything.
- The dough should turn out thick (thicker than on pancakes). If the dough is too thick, add a couple of tablespoons of sour cream to it. If you are careful when adding flour, then you will be able to get the correct consistency of the dough.
- Divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
- In one part, add three tablespoons of cocoa and mix well until a homogeneous mass is obtained. When choosing cocoa, give preference to quality so that the finished cake tastes like chocolate.
- Cover the baking dish with parchment paper, grease with butter. Then, in the middle of the form, alternately three tablespoons spread white and chocolate dough. The dough will spread itself in shape, mixing with each other, and creating beautiful patterns. That is why the finished cake in the context has a beautiful pattern, which is why it was called "Zebra".
- We send the form to the oven, bake at a temperature of 170 degrees 45 minutes. Then we get it out and let it cool.
Cooking cream
- In a deep bowl, pour 50 g of sugar and 150 g of sour cream.
- Mix well with a whisk or mixer. Leave for a few minutes to dissolve the sugar.
Make icing
- We put a stew-pan with a thick bottom on the fire, send 80 g of butter, 75 g of sugar into it. Mix, let the butter melt.
- Then add 20 g of cocoa (this is 1 tablespoon with a hill) and 130 g of sour cream.
- Cook the icing over low heat, stirring constantly. As soon as it boils, remove from heat, let cool.
Making a cake
- If the cake acquired a semicircular shape during baking, then this can be corrected by cutting off the top or turning the cake upside down.
- Cut the finished cake into two parts. In order not to disturb the drawing, we make a cut along the entire height, which will serve as a mark for you to dock.
- Put the first cake on a flat dish, grease it with sour cream. To lubricate one, use 2 tablespoons of cream.
- Then put the second cake on top, fill it with chocolate icing. Lubricate the sides of the cake with icing so that the coating is uniform. We send it to the refrigerator for three hours, let it soak.
- Then we lay out a stencil with patterns on the top of the cake, sprinkle with coconut flakes, remove the stencil.
- We serve the Zebra cake for tea or any other favorite drink, cut into portions.
