Step cooking
- First, prepare all the products so that later you do not have to run around, look for them or weigh them. For this recipe, you need to melt the butter. Therefore, take it out of the refrigerator early so that it softens - then the process will go faster.
You can melt in many ways. The easiest and fastest is to send the softened oil to the microwave for a few seconds, mix, and then reheat. Set the microwave power to minimum and constantly check the oil, otherwise it may partially boil and partially remain a whole piece! If there is no microwave, then heat in a water bath. To do this, take a small saucepan with thin walls and cut the butter into small cubes. Pour water into a large pot and set on fire. Put a smaller pan in a larger one. Be careful not to overflow water. Everything. Wait for the butter to melt. Stir occasionally.
- Even if the eggs are clean, wash them under running water. Then, in a deep bowl, break all five eggs that are needed by prescription. Divide into yolks is not necessary! Beat the eggs a little with a whisk, just so that they mix.
- Pour a little 200 g of sugar: a little at first, mix, then again, mix again. When the sugar is completely poured, the eggs and sugar must be beaten in a thick foam. You can use for these purposes both a regular whisk and a mixer.
- Now is the time to turn on the waffle iron. Most modern models heat up almost instantly in a couple of minutes. "Grandmother" waffle irons need longer heating. Look at the characteristics of your device, but the better you warm up, the less there will be “marriage”. So, if you have already whipped sugar with eggs, then pour in them non-hot (!) Melted butter, and again mix everything thoroughly. Add the vanilla extract to taste, usually somewhere around 1 tsp.
- Now add a little spoonful of flour with a tablespoon, otherwise lumps may appear, and this is unacceptable in waffles. Mix thoroughly every time - everything should be homogeneous!
- Your dough is ready. It should not be very thick, liquid like sour cream. Now you can bake waffles. Depending on the waffle iron, one waffle will take up to 2 tbsp. l test (there are models that bake small waffles, then there you can get by with a couple of teaspoons).
- Take out the waffle carefully - it is very hot! For this purpose use a silicone spatula. Lay a piece of parchment paper on the board and lay the wafer on it. While it is hot, give it the desired shape (if the wafer cools down, you can neither curl it, nor even bend it).
Waffle Design Options
- Traditional straw.
- Classic horn. Here you just need to get the hang of it - keep one edge when rolling.
- Sweet basket.You need to take two small identical bowls. Turn one over, lay the wafer on top of it and cover the second. Allow to cool. Very good preparation for the design of fruit salads, ice cream, etc.
- Smooth waffle. Just let it cool on a flat surface. We need such “pancakes” for homemade waffle cake.
