Step cooking
- In a medium-sized bowl, pour 0.5 cups of vegetable oil. We bring water in an amount of 0.5 cup to a boil and add almost boiling water to a bowl of vegetable oil in a bowl.
- Then add one or two pinches of salt to this mixture and mix everything thoroughly. Water must be hot. Sift wheat flour over a bowl. If you want to get a dough for pies with fruit filling, then it is better to make it tighter: take two and a half glasses of flour, since the fruits give off juice. If the filling is mushroom or potato, then the dough should be soft, so you can take two glasses of flour. In this case, the dough for the pies must be formed simply by stretching it with your hands, without a rolling pin.
- When sifting flour, add one teaspoon of baking powder to it. Now with our hands knead the dough first in a bowl, then put it on a cutting board, knead well.
- We return the dough to a bowl, cover with a kitchen towel or cling film, let it rest for about half an hour.
- After half an hour, the dough became uniform, soft and supple, because the flour gave its gluten. You can begin to form pies.
Useful Tips
- Try to buy premium flour for making dough. It will positively affect its quality, the pies will be magnificent, airy.
- Vegetable oil should be odorless, not bitter, not old, then you can guarantee the good taste of the flour product.
- This dough is suitable for pies with various fillings: sweet, salty, sour. It can be from apples, plums, sweet jams, salted cheese, cabbage, potatoes.
- Pies are fried in vegetable oil, such a dough is not suitable for baking in the oven.
- Often such lean dough is used for pies during fasting, as it does not contain eggs, animal fats.
- You do not need to store this dough for a long time, even in the refrigerator it will lose its quality: it may darken, and you cannot use it in this case.
- When preparing such a dough, you do not need to mix different varieties of flour, for example, add corn to wheat. This will negatively affect the taste of the products that you will cook.
- If you do not have a baking powder, you can use baking soda.
