Step cooking
Prepare the products
- Pour 100 g of round rice into a small saucepan, then fill it with water and send to the stove.
- Add a little salt there and cook the rice until half cooked, and then drop it into a colander and let the excess liquid drain.
- Peel one onion and cut into medium-sized pieces.
- We rinse and dry one bunch of parsley, after which we cut the thick stems and throw them away.
- Sliced onions and parsley are sent to the blender bowl and chopped to a mushy state.
- In the resulting green gruel, add 1 pinch of salt and 10 ml of olive oil.
- Once again, carefully mix the components and transfer to a separate container.
Cook the meatballs
- In a large roomy capacity we spread 1.2 kg of ground beef. This recipe allows the use of pork, chicken or mixed from several types of minced meat.
- On top of the meat we put the cooled rice and a mushy mixture of onions and herbs. There we break 1 chicken egg, and also add 5 g of dried basil and 10 g of coarse paprika.
- Next, salt and pepper the minced meat in accordance with your taste. Stir the cooked ingredients thoroughly until a homogeneous, dense mass is obtained.
- We gently wet our hands in cold water and form round meatballs, the size of which directly depends on your preferences. Roll the formed product in flour and spread on a flat surface.
- We heat the frying pan of a large diameter, after which we pour 20-30 ml of olive or sunflower oil into it.
- Gently spread the meatballs made on the hot oil, then fry them on all sides until a golden crust appears. Put the fried meat balls in a baking dish.
- Between the meatballs we lay out the leaves of fresh basil.
Make the sauce
- We heat a clean frying pan, after which we pour 20-30 ml of olive or sunflower oil into it and wait until it is very hot. We spread 30 g of tomato paste on hot oil, and then fry it with constant stirring for a minute.
- Pour 200-400 ml of bottled water there. The amount of liquid depends on the consistency of the sauce you want to cook - liquid or thick. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.
- Add 5 g oregano to the sauce, the desired amount of salt and ground black pepper. After boiling, cook the sauce on medium heat for no more than three minutes, while stirring it periodically so that it does not burn.
- Pour the cooked tomato sauce into a baking dish over the stacked meatballs.
The final stage
We send the dish to the oven preheated to 200 ° C. Bake meatballs with gravy for 20-30 minutes.
