Meatball preparation
- Grind two cloves of garlic with a knife or with the help of garlic cloves. We will need small pieces.
- In a blender bowl or in a meat grinder, grind two onions to a state of porridge. It is necessary that he does not form large pieces, then the meatballs will turn out to be more uniform and tender. Boil 100 grams of white rice of any shape until half ready. We get rid of excess fluid with a colander. Add 700 g of pre-prepared minced meat to a deep container. For this recipe, it is more appropriate to use mixed minced meat - from pork and beef, or with the addition of chicken. But you can use another stuffing that is available.
- Mix the meat, chopped onion and garlic. We drive in one chicken egg, salt and pepper to taste, pour 100 ml of plain water. The liquid at this stage is needed so that the forcemeat for meatballs is juicy. Mix the mass until smooth.
- Pour 100 grams of previously boiled rice into a container with minced meat, mix thoroughly.
- Then we proceed to the formation of meatballs: approximately two tablespoons of minced meat are twisted in our hands until we get even and smooth balls. So that during the formation of products the mince does not stick to your hands, you need to moisten them with water a little.
- We put the pan to warm up, add three tablespoons of vegetable unrefined oil to it. The resulting products are slightly baked in wheat flour and spread on hot oil. Fry on both sides until half cooked.
- The meatballs, fried to a golden crust, are laid out in a heat-resistant and deep baking dish.
Gravy preparation
- Rub the peeled carrots on a coarse grater.
- Chop onions into four rings.
- We heat a thick-walled pan, melt 40 g of butter on it.
- When all the butter has melted, add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
- Once the onion has acquired the desired shade, add the grated carrots and cook under a closed lid until the carrots soften.
- We put 5 tablespoons of tomato paste and 100 ml of boiled water in a frying pan for vegetables, mix and simmer. You can also use tomato juice.
- Pour three tablespoons of wheat flour and simmer for several minutes, while stirring constantly. It is important that the flour does not stick together and does not form lumps.
- Pour 900 ml of boiled water, stir well and simmer the gravy for another 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and pour 100 ml of cream, salt and pepper to taste. At this point, you can add spices or herbs to the gravy.
- Pour the resulting gravy into a deep form with fried meatballs. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the dish for 40 minutes.
