Kitchen appliances and utensils:
- slow cooker;
- grater;
- a bowl;
- deep container for mixing minced meat;
- steaming bowl.
Ingredients
Minced chicken | 500 g |
Buckwheat groats (raw) | 100 g |
Onion | 100 g |
Starch (potato, corn or rice) | 15 g |
Water | 80 ml |
Mixture of peppers | 1/3 tsp |
Turmeric | 1/3 tsp |
Salt | 2 tsp |
Step cooking
- We transfer buckwheat groats (100 g) to a deep bowl, rinse thoroughly and pour boiling water about 1 cm above the level of the groats themselves. Cover the buckwheat container on top with a plate and set aside for 10 minutes (this time will be enough to allow the croup to steam out).
- Onions (one onion weighing approximately 100 g is enough for you) we clean, wash and three on a fine grater.
- Spread the minced meat in a deep bowl. To it add grated onion, 1/3 tsp. a mixture of peppers (can be replaced with ordinary black ground pepper), 1/3 tsp. turmeric, steamed buckwheat (you must first drain the remaining water from it), 15 g of starch, 2 tsp. salt and 80 ml of cold water.
- Mix everything thoroughly until evenly distributed. Initially, the resulting mincemeat may seem slightly liquid, however, if you leave it to stand for 5-10 minutes, it will slightly thicken and become denser. In order for the meatballs to be more magnificent, after a specified period of time manually throw the minced meat several times and throw it back into the container. After you do this manipulation, with wet hands, start forming medium-sized circles from the minced meat and put them in the steaming bowl, which comes with each multicooker.
- We pour 1 liter of cold water into the metal bowl of the multicooker, and from above we install our capacity with meatballs.
- Close the lid of the multicooker and turn it on in “Steam” mode for 20 minutes. After the slow cooker gives a signal about the readiness of the dish, turn it off and serve the meatballs to the table. Enjoy your meal!
Ways to decorate and serve dishes
If you want the meatballs to be more “elegant”, you can add any finely chopped greens to the stuffing. Since buckwheat is included in the meatballs, you should not make a side dish for them. It would be much better to serve such a dish with a salad of fresh vegetables. When serving meatballs, you can top with tomato, sour cream sauce or melted butter.

You can clearly see how chicken meatballs are prepared in a slow cooker in this video recipe.
The recipe for such meatballs is just a godsend for those who do not have the opportunity to spend a lot of time cooking. However, despite all the sudden cooking, the dish turns out to be very tasty.
