Step cooking
First you need to bake or cook the beets.
You can bake beets in foil, for this:
- Thoroughly wash 300 - 400 g of beets with a brush to remove adhering soil and other contaminants.
- Wipe with a towel, remove all moisture.
- Wrap the vegetables in foil, each separately, place on a baking sheet or in a baking dish and send to a hot oven.
- Bake at 200 degrees for about one hour.
- After 40 minutes, remove one beet from the oven, pierce it with a toothpick or fork, if it comes in effortlessly, then the vegetable is ready.
- Remove from the oven, cool and peel.
To quickly cook beets in a pan, you need to do a couple of simple manipulations, namely:
- Rinse thoroughly the root crop.
- Pour cold water and put on a strong fire.
- After boiling, reduce the heat and cook the beets until soft, about 30-40 minutes (check with a toothpick or fork, if it comes in gently, then the vegetable is ready).
- Place the pan under cold water for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Soak in advance 2 to 3 slices of bread in milk (crumb only). Grate beets on a coarse grater.
- Add one egg, salt, pepper to beetroot to taste.
- Squeeze a couple of cloves of garlic.
- Add 2 tbsp. l semolina and bread soaked in milk. Do not forget to pre-squeeze the bread so that there is no excess liquid.
- Knead the minced meat well until smooth and leave for about ten minutes, so that the semolina swells.
- Wet the minced meat to form medium-sized meatballs and roll in breadcrumbs with wet hands.
- Pour the sunflower oil into the pan, and put the patties on the preheated pan.
- Fry the patties on both sides until golden brown, about 10 minutes on each side.
Before serving, beetroot patties can be decorated with greens and pour over sour cream sauce.
