Step cooking
- First, rinse thoroughly under running water, and then boil 5 pcs in a pan. medium-sized beets until cooked over medium heat for about 1 hour. Check the readiness of root vegetables with a knife or a toothpick; vegetables should be completely soft. If you wish, you can bake beets, which will well affect its taste. Cool the beets at room temperature and peel them with a knife. To save time, you can boil the root vegetables in advance or the night before. Grate the cooled beets on a coarse grater and place it in a deep bowl.
- Rinse 150 g of prunes thoroughly under running water, remove the seeds and cut into thin strips. Then add the prunes to the beetroot bowl. To soften the prunes and make them gentler, you can pre-fill it with boiling water for 10 minutes, then drain and dry with paper towels.
- Rinse 100 g of walnuts and chop with a knife or in a blender, but not very much, the nuts in the salad should be felt. If desired, you can pre-dry the nuts in the oven so that they do not particularly soak in the salad. Add chopped nuts to beets with prunes.
- Peel 3 cloves of garlic, then chop it with a knife or mince through the garlic. Add garlic to the rest of the ingredients. Salt the salad to taste, then season it with about 4 tbsp. l mayonnaise and mix well. Pour about 2 tbsp of salad. l vegetable oil and mix everything thoroughly so that the mayonnaise and oil are evenly distributed.
- Gently place the salad on the serving platter. Optionally, sprinkle on top a little grated hard cheese and lay a sprig of fresh herbs. This will further saturate and diversify the taste of the salad. Also, to enhance the taste, it is better to leave the salad to infuse for several hours in the refrigerator.
