- For the dish you will need salmon, which can be purchased in the store as a whole, or cut pieces. If the fish is whole, then we first prepare and cut it. We cut off the head and tail of the salmon, make a large incision throughout the abdomen and get all the insides. We rinse with plenty of water and clean the skin from the scales. Rinse again and cut into pieces. It will take as many steaks as how many people a dish is calculated. In this recipe, 3 salmon steaks are prepared for 3 people.
- First, rub the fish abundantly with a mixture of peppers. It can be a combination of black pepper, allspice, red and other. Rub the fish with spices on both sides. It is also possible to season salmon with Provencal herbs.
- Before putting the salmon steak in the oven, salt it with a small amount of coarse salt. Thus, the fish will turn out juicy and tasty. But do not overdo it with salt, because when it is baked, it dissolves, and salmon can turn out to be salted. It is better to salt an already prepared dish.
- Seasoned salmon steaks are placed on a baking sheet with baking paper. Since red fish is already so oily, there is no need to additionally water it with vegetable oil. Also, do not process vegetable oil and baking paper.
- We put the salmon steak in a cold oven, turn it on 200 degrees and bake the fish for a quarter of an hour. Do not cook salmon in the oven for longer, because then it will become less juicy. Also, do not leave it in the oven after cooking, as it only dries up. It is better to get the fish and let it stand for a bit on the table.
Serve a salmon steak with grilled vegetables, boiled rice or another side dish to your taste. From above it is possible to decorate red fish with fresh herbs, for example, green onions, parsley or dill. You can add sourness to the finished dish with the help of lemon juice, which sprinkle the prepared salmon steaks a little.
