Step cooking
- Line the table with parchment paper and roll out puff yeast-free dough (270 grams) into a thin layer. With a sharp knife, cut the dough into equal squares.
- The edges of each square on two opposite sides are cut into strips about 2-2.5 cm long and up to 1 cm wide.
- Sprinkle the distance between the strips (middle) with corn or potato starch. All puffs will take you about 1 tablespoon of starch. Put apricot jam (over a teaspoon) in the middle of each square and evenly distribute it throughout the middle.
- Pinch each pair of parallel strips, a little overlap.
- Pour water (20 ml) into a small bowl, add sugar (a tablespoon) into it and mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Using a silicone brush, coat the puffs with sweet water.
- Put chopped nuts on top of puffs. Transfer the formed puffs with apricot jam to a baking sheet covered with parchment, and bake in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes in the "Convection" mode.
- Put lightly cooled puffs with jam on a plate for 1-2 pieces, decorate with fresh mint leaves, and serve as a sweet dessert for any kind of tea, coffee, coffee with milk, cocoa, compote or fruit drink.
