Kitchen appliances and utensils
- gas stove or hob;
- kitchen scales;
- deep capacity;
- beaker;
- 7 liter saucepan;
- 3 liter pan;
- plastic spoon with a long handle;
- colander;
- 4 liter cans with lids;
- warm blanket;
- ladle.
Ingredients
- Blue plum - 2 kg
- Water - 10 L
- Sugar - 700 g
Step cooking
- We take 2 kg of blue plums, remove the stalks, thoroughly rinse the fruits under running water, transfer to a deep container, fill 3 liters of water to get rid of insects, if any, and leave for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, drain the water and again thoroughly rinse the drain under running water. Pour 5 liters of water into a 7-liter pan, and fill 2 liters of water in a 3-liter pan, put both containers on a large fire and wait for the liquid to boil.
- When the water boils, add 700 g of sugar to a smaller pan, stir it with a plastic spoon, then reduce the heat and leave the syrup to boil.
- We take a colander, fill the drain with a portion so that they fill it in 2/3, and dip in water boiling in a 7-liter pan for 1.5 minutes.
- After 1.5 minutes, we get a colander and use a spoon to transfer the plums into a sterile liter jar so that they fill the container almost to the top and 2-3 cm remain to the neck. It is not necessary to ram the fruits.
- Pour the plums in a jar of boiling syrup with a ladle and immediately roll up or tightly twist the lid.
- In a similar way, we fill and roll three more cans of 1 liter with plums in syrup.
- When all the cans are rolled up, put them on a half of a warm blanket, which is spread on the floor or any other flat surface, with the lids down, wrap them up and leave them like that until the plums are completely cooled. The cooled cans are placed in a cool dark place.
