Ingredients
Product | amount |
Plums | 1 kg |
Sugar | 250 g |
Water | 2 l |
Step cooking
- Plums weighing 1 kg are thoroughly washed and cut in half, removing the seeds. We put them in a three-liter jar.
- Pour 250 g of sugar into a jar.
- We fill the plums with boiling water almost to the top of the jar - you need 2 liters of water.
- We cover the jar with a lid (without twisting) and leave it for 30-40 minutes.
- After this, pour the liquid into the pan (without fruits). We put the pan on the fire and bring the syrup to a boil.
- Boiled syrup again pour the plums in the jar.
- Screw the lid tightly.
- Set the jar lid down on a towel and cover with a blanket. We leave the bank in this position for a day.
Useful Tips
- For such a compote, only dense plums are suitable, since when pouring boiling water (and even twice), the soft fruits simply creep into porridge.
- Compote can also be prepared from plums with pits.
- If desired, you can add half a cinnamon stick, a couple of allspice peas and 2-3 cloves to the bottle.
- If desired, sugar can be replaced with honey.
