Mackerel Preparation
- We clean fresh mackerel, gutting it, trim the tail, fins, head, and rinse well. Cut 2 pcs. mackerel into portions (from 4 to 5 pieces from one fish), put in a deep plate.
- Sprinkle the pieces with 1.5 tsp. seasoning for fish.
- Rub it with your hands and rub the seasoning into pieces outside and inside. If seasoning contains salt, then we don’t salt the fish, if there is no salt, then add salt to your taste (approximately 1 tsp). We pickle for 10 - 20 minutes, and for now we prepare the potatoes for cooking. For pickling, you can do with lemon juice or lemon and salt.
- We put the foil in two layers, this will be one bag for baking half the pieces of fish.
- Spread on the foil 4 - 5 pieces.
- Wrap carefully so that during cooking the juice does not leak from the fish. We close the edges tightly, and the top can be left slightly ajar so that the fish is steamed well under the influence of steam. In the same way, we make a second bag with the remaining pieces of fish.
Potato preparation
- We clean potatoes 600 g (6 - 7 pcs. Medium size), wash. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, then cut the halves into two more parts to make slices.
- In the bowl of the multicooker we spread all the chopped potatoes.
- Add 1/3 Art. l salt.
- Pour potatoes with 1 liter of cold water.
Cooking fish and potatoes
- On top of the bowl with potatoes set a basket of a double boiler, on it we put bags of foil with fish.
- Close the lid of the multicooker, cook in steam mode for 30 minutes. We will choose the type of product “poultry” (“chicken”, “steaming”), since potatoes will also be prepared here. Press the "start" button. The countdown will begin when the water boils.
- After 30 minutes, drain the water from the potatoes, add 20 g of butter (can be cut into small pieces, then it will melt faster). Finely chop 1 bunch of dill, it will add flavor. Sprinkle them with potatoes.
- Shake the bowl slightly so that the dill and oil are distributed throughout the potatoes.
- We unfold the fish, all the juice from it remained in the foil. This juice can be used as gravy for potatoes. The mackerel turned out to be tender, juicy, not at all dry, and the potatoes fragrant and tasty.
