To prepare a delicious juicy mackerel on the grill, prepare the following components:

Step cooking
- Take one whole mackerel. If it is frozen, first let the fish thaw completely. Thoroughly rinse the carcass of a mackerel under running water, clean it from the inside and also wash from the inside. Blot the fish inside and out with dry paper towels, removing moisture from the carcass as much as possible.
- Prepare the mackerel marinade. To do this, take one medium-sized onion, peel it and cut into thin enough half rings.
- Next, separate half of the lemon and cut it into slices.
- Take peeled mackerel and rub it thoroughly with salt and black ground pepper on top and inside. You can also add spices for fish to your taste.
- Finely chop a bunch of parsley, then add the juice of several slices of lemon to it. Also take a few onion rings, squeeze them with your hands and add to the parsley with lemon juice.
- Mix the parsley, squeezed lemon slices and onion rings with your hands, gently squeezing, so that the mixture releases juice.
- Thoroughly rub the fish with the mixture on all sides - both on top and inside. Then stuff the mackerel with the remaining parsley and previously chopped onions. Also put a few slices of lemon on both sides inside the fish. Leave the mackerel to marinate until a bonfire breaks out. If you cook fish at home, you can leave it in the marinade for several hours or all night.
- Pour 2-3 tbsp into a small deep bowl. l vegetable oil. Peel 1-2 cloves of garlic from the husk and finely chop it with a knife or with the help of the garlic. Add chopped garlic to sunflower oil and mix.
- Take the barbecue grill and grease it with sunflower oil using a silicone brush.
- Using paper towels or napkins, wipe the outside of the mackerel from parsley residues so that the greens do not burn when frying.
- Put the fish in the grill, fix and send to the grill. Watch the cooking process. To prevent mackerel from burning, turn it over every two minutes, while lubricating with sunflower oil and garlic with a silicone brush.
- Fry fish on the grill until golden brown. In general, it will take about 20 minutes if you have selected large mackerel. If the fish is small, 15 minutes will be enough.
- Remove the prepared mackerel from the rack, put on a plate, decorate with fresh herbs and lemon, and serve.
