Step cooking
- First of all, let's get stuffed. Pour two glasses of pitted cherries into a small saucepan. To them add a glass of sugar, a bag of vanilla sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon. The latter always gives fruits and berries an unforgettable aroma, as well as an unusual taste. Using a spatula, mix our ingredients.
- Add starch to the bowl and stir the filling again.
- If desired, you can add some kind of alcohol. Here liquor or cognac will be appropriate. In our case, 4 tablespoons will be the golden mean. If you are cooking for children, then skip this step and move on to the next step.
- We put our mixture on a slow fire and bring to a thickening. It should not be too liquid, but at the same time, it should not be too dense, because when baked in this case, a homogeneous mass will be obtained. After thickening, the mixture should cool. Try not to work with such thick components if they are still hot.
- Butter must be melted on fire in a separate bowl, stirring constantly.
- Roll a puff pastry roll on a board and spread with butter. We distribute the oil with a brush evenly over the entire surface, leaving the edges around the perimeter one and a half to two centimeters intact.
- We begin to sprinkle with breadcrumbs. We use them only in the place where we will spread the filling. We cover about a third of the test.
- We take the cooled filling and carefully spread the spoon on top of crackers, with a small slide.
- After that we turn the roll and pinch the edges. This is to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
- Together with the parchment we move it into a baking dish, do not forget to grease the butter on top. We use a brush for this.
- We also make several punctures with skewers. The distance between the holes and their number is determined at our discretion.
- We heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and put our strudel in it for half an hour. Look after him after 20 minutes, it may be worth getting pastries earlier to avoid burning and drying out. Consider the features of your oven.
- Ready strudel should be allowed to cool slightly, then sprinkle with powder and cut into portions. It is better not to cut the hot dish, but if there is such a need, first hold the knife under running hot water, then wipe it and use it. You can serve such a dessert with tea, with coffee or juice.
