Step cooking
- First, wash the meat and let it drain a little or dry it with paper towels. Cut each half of the chicken fillet lengthwise into not-so-thick steaks so that they are well cooked later. Sprinkle salt and black pepper on both sides (orient yourself to your taste). Let them lie down a little so that they are well "marinated."
- Pour a little vegetable oil into the pan and put on medium heat. Begin roasting chicken. Fry until a golden, beautiful crust appears. Naturally, it should be fried on both sides. While preparing the meat, take care of vegetables.
- Remove the top sheets from the cabbage and rinse well under running water. Then cut in half and chop on a cabbage grater. You should get about a kilogram. Fold in a deep bowl. Rinse the cucumber and cut it into strips, put it in a bowl of cabbage. Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater. Put it in cabbage too. Stir grated and chopped vegetables. Salt to taste the resulting salad. Wash the tomato and cut it into very thin semicircles.
- Prepare the sauce - mix 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with 1-2 tablespoons of ketchup or tomato paste.
- Cut the fried meat in the way you like - in strips, pieces, etc.
- Divide the three large sheets of pita bread in half. Total you get 6 pcs. blanks. Collect each shawarma like this: first spread the sauce on the surface of the pita bread. An overly thick layer does not need to be applied, because this can lead to the fact that the pita softens and breaks. The sauce should not be applied on the edge of one side - the one further from you. Spread lettuce on top. A little more - it will give homemade shawarma freshness and lightness. This is followed by meat and tomatoes.
- Now wrap pita bread. To do this, bend on the right and left sides, and start spinning with a roll. Heat a frying pan over a fire and brush it with sunflower oil. Place the shawarma in a pan and fry until golden. This happens very quickly, so you need to constantly turn it so that the pita bread is fried from all sides. If necessary, grease the lavash with a brush.
