Step cooking
Potato cooking
- Draw water into a pot and bring to a boil.
- Rinse two or three potatoes thoroughly under running water.
- When the water boils, add 1 teaspoon of salt to it. Put the potatoes in water.
- When the water boils again, reduce the heat to medium. Cook potatoes 30-40 minutes until cooked (check with a skewer or a toothpick).
- Remove the potatoes from the heat and wait for it to cool completely.
Cooking salad
- For the salad you will need 2 boneless herring fillets. Cut it into small pieces.
- Put the first layer of herring on a plate and cover with a layer of mayonnaise.
- Wash a large bunch of green onions (5-6 feathers), dry and chop finely.
- Put the onions in a herring, and top with mayonnaise.
- Peel boiled potatoes from the skin. Grate potatoes on a coarse grater.
- On top of a green onion, lay a layer of potatoes, carefully leveling it. Do not forget about the layer of mayonnaise.
- Rinse one small fresh cucumber under running water. Cut the cucumber into strips and place it evenly on the salad.
- On a coarse grater, grate 150 grams of hard cheese. Cover the cucumbers with a layer of grated cheese, and then again with mayonnaise.
- Rinse and dry the bunch of dill. Finely chop the greens and generously sprinkle the salad on it. You can add a little green onion on top. The dish is ready. Enjoy your meal!
Making Homemade Mayonnaise
- In a deep bowl, mix 1 raw chicken egg, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of powdered mustard, 1 gram of cayenne pepper and 50 milliliters of olive oil.
- Beat the whole mixture with a mixer.
- When the food mixes well enough, start pouring 75 milliliters of refined vegetable oil.
- After that, add 1 lemon juice to mayonnaise. Whisk.
- Gradually add another 75 milliliters of refined vegetable oil to the sauce, continuing to mix thoroughly. The sauce is ready.
