Step cooking
- Cut 2 cucumbers and 2 carrots into thin strips 3-4 cm long.
- Chop 1 celery root with the same thin strips.
- Cut the kernels of 3 walnuts into small pieces.
- Chop 3 cloves of garlic finely.
- Mix in a bowl 60-80 g of mayonnaise, 4-6 g of Dijon mustard, salt the sauce to taste.
- Put half chopped celery in a salad bowl. Pour the celery with juice of 1 lemon and let stand for 4-5 minutes.
- Add chopped cucumbers to the salad bowl.
- Add half the cooked sauce to the vegetables and add finely chopped walnuts.
- Mix the contents of the salad bowl well.
- In the second salad bowl, put the remaining chopped celery root. As in the previous recipe, pour it with juice of 1 lemon and let stand for 4-5 minutes.
- Add chopped carrots, garlic, remaining sauce to the salad bowl.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Put a salad with celery and cucumber on a plate. It should take half the dish. On the second half of the plate, lay out the carrot version. Garnish salads with fresh parsley leaves. The dish is ready, it can be served to the table. Enjoy your meal!
Celery root salad is a delicious, and most importantly, healthy vegetable dish, despite the fact that many people are prejudiced by the root itself and its taste. The secret to the taste of this dish is that you pour chopped celery with lemon juice (for this purpose you can also use lime juice, it will turn out even tastier).
At the same time, the dish is quite low-calorie, it is great for those on a diet. If mayonnaise bothers you, sour cream or white yogurt will perfectly replace it in the sauce. It will come out just as tasty, but much more healthy.
Dijon mustard is also not a “sentence”. Instead, you can use the usual, the taste of this will not get worse. Walnuts can be replaced with forest or almonds, focus on your own preferences.
You can cook and eat each salad separately. And you can follow this recipe, and serve two salads at once, on one dish. So the salad itself looks more interesting and brighter. And you must admit - eating two options in one sitting is easier and tastier than one in the same amount.
