Step cooking
- Using a knife, disassemble the broccoli cabbage (0.5 kg) into inflorescences. If the inflorescences are very large, cut them in half along. Cut the remaining leg into medium-sized pieces.
- Put a pot filled with water (2-2.5 liters) on the stove and let the water boil. Salt water to taste. Dip the prepared broccoli inflorescences into boiling salted water and mix so that all the inflorescences are covered with water. From the moment of boiling, cook cabbage for 3-4 minutes.
- While broccoli is cooked, peel the onion (1 piece) and cut it into half rings. Half rings should not be very thin, but not wide.
- Pickle the onion so that it loses its bitterness. To do this, add lemon juice (1 teaspoon), sugar (1/2 teaspoon) and salt (to taste) to the onion. With your hand, remember the onion so that it starts up the juice, and let it stand for a while.
- Cut the tomato into small pieces: cut it in half, remove the stalk and cut the half in half again, and then unfold and cut across into small slices.
- Remove the boiled broccoli with a slotted spoon in a salad bowl or drop it in a colander and let the cabbage cool completely.
- In a deep salad bowl, to a completely cooled broccoli, lay out the pickled onions along with the juice, and tomatoes sliced in small slices.
- Dress the salad with any vegetable oil (2 - 3 tablespoons) of your choice: olive, sunflower, corn or linseed.
- Salt and pepper the salad to taste. Mix well. The salad is ready, you can immediately serve it to the table.

Broccoli salad is very elegant and bright, so it does not require additional decoration. It is enough to put it in a beautiful salad bowl and serve as a side dish for fried meat, fish cooked in the oven in foil or baked chicken.
