Step cooking
- You must first sift the flour. In a deep bowl for kneading the dough, spread the soft butter and sour cream. Mix thoroughly. Next, add vanilla sugar and baking powder. If you do not like vanilla, you can use regular granulated sugar.
- Then we introduce the sifted flour in small portions and knead the dough. We begin to knead with a spoon or spatula, but when the dough is gathered in a lump, knead with your hands. The dough should be soft and elastic. Please note that depending on the type of flour and its characteristics, a little more or a little less may be needed for kneading it. Therefore, add flour as needed, but you do not need to slaughter the dough heavily. It should not be too cool. We put the finished dough in a clean bag and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Any marmalade, marmalade or dried fruit is suitable for filling bagels. You can also use thick jam, jam and candied berries. If you use marmalade, cut it into thin slices.
- We divide the rested dough into 4 parts. While we are doing one, we clean the rest in the refrigerator. We roll part of the dough into a ball, then roll out a rolling pin into a layer with a thickness of about 3 mm. Try to roll evenly so that the middle and the edges are the same thickness.
- Then cut the rolled dough into pieces. First we cut into 4 segments, and then each of them is divided by another 3.
- On each segment closer to the edge we spread a slice of marmalade and carefully wrap a bagel. We try to twist the tails under the bottom.
- We lay out blanks for bagels on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- Preheat the oven to 20 degrees. We put a baking sheet in it and bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on the characteristics of a particular oven. Bagels should be reddened, become slightly golden. Remove the finished bagels while still hot from the baking sheet, put it on the dish and sprinkle with a little sugar. Enjoy your meal!
