Ingredients

  • orange juice - 200 ml
  • bottled water - 300 ml
  • granulated sugar - 300 g
  • corn or rice starch - 250 g

Step cooking

  1. Pour 200 ml of orange juice and 300 ml of bottled water into a stewpan or pan with a thick bottom. Pour orange juice and water into the stewpan.
  2. We send 300 g of granulated sugar and 5 g of citric acid there. If you do not want the upcoming treat to have a refined citrus acidity, then feel free to exclude citric acid. Add sugar and citric acid.
  3. Pour 200 g of corn or rice starch last. Add starch as well.
  4. Using a large whisk, mix the components until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Mix the mass until smooth.
  5. We send the stewpan with the contents to a medium heat, where with active and constant stirring, cook the mixture until thickened. Approximately from the moment of boiling, it will take about 7-10 minutes to reach the desired density. Boil the mass until thickened.
  6. Wet glass square shape, in which we will cook Turkish delight, moisten with cold water. We spread the thickened, viscous mass in a wet form and evenly distribute it. If desired, peeled nuts (pistachios, almonds, peanuts) or crushed dense fruits can be placed in the jelly mass. We lay out the thickened mass in a mold lubricated with cold water.
  7. Leave the workpiece at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to freeze the product. Leave the mass to solidify.
