Kitchen appliances and utensils
- pan;
- spoon or spatula;
- stove or hob;
- glass container for storage;
- covers.
Ingredients
- Figs - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1 kg
- Water - 1 stack.
Step cooking
- We take 1 kg of fresh figs (it is important that the fruits are without visible damage and a dense texture - not too hard, but not soft) and thoroughly rinse it under running water.
- The washed figs (cut it unnecessarily) are put in a saucepan of a suitable size and pour 1 kg of sugar.
- Add 1 glass of water to the pan with figs and sugar, slightly mix all its contents and put on medium heat. If desired, you can also add a little vanillin or lemon juice to the jam, this will give it a more intense flavor.
- When the contents of the pan begin to boil, reduce the heat and keep the jam on the stove for about 60-70 minutes (periodically, jam the jam with a spoon or spatula).
- After a specified period of time, remove the jam from the stove. If you plan to use jam in the near future, then simply pour it into a glass container, let it cool, close it with a nylon cover and put it in the refrigerator. If you want to prepare it for the winter, then hot jam should be poured into sterilized jars, hermetically sealed with sterilized lids, turn upside down and wrap in a blanket. In this position, it is necessary to let the jam cool completely (about 1-2 days), and then put it in a dark, cool place and store it there for a year.
Decoration and serving
To give fig jam more piquancy and originality, you can add raisins, nuts, dates, prunes, dried apricots, etc. Also, to diversify the taste of such jam and give it oriental notes: nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, ginger , rosemary, cinnamon. However, you need to add the above ingredients in small quantities, on the tip of the knife, so as not to block the taste of the fig itself.
