Kitchen appliances and utensils: gas or electric stove, pan, sharp knife, cutting board, kitchen spatula, blender, jars for mashed potatoes, lids for rolling.
Ingredients
Name | amount |
The apples | 2 kg |
Water | 250 ml |
Sugar | 250 g |
Step cooking
- We take 2 kilograms of fresh apples, thoroughly rinse them under water and peel them with a sharp knife. Choose an apple variety depending on your taste preferences. Next, cut out seed boxes from peeled apples.
- Finished apples cut into slices and put in a pan.
- Pour 250 grams of sugar into apples and mix thoroughly with a kitchen spatula. We leave the apples for several hours at room temperature so that they can "let" the juice.
- After the apples "let" the juice, pour 250 milliliters of water into the pan. We turn on the gas or electric stove, put on it a pan with apples and bring to a boil over medium heat. After the apples have begun to boil, cook them for 30-40 minutes on low heat until they become soft. Turn off the fire and beat the apples with a blender until smooth.
- Turn on the gas or electric stove on a small fire and cook the mashed potatoes with the lid closed for another 15 minutes. Be careful, mashed potatoes “shoot”, and you can seriously burn yourself.
- We lay out the finished mashed potatoes on sterilized jars and roll up the lid.
- We turn over rolled cans and wrap up to complete cooling.
- Mashed potatoes are ready, bon appetit!
Tips for the hostess
- Late ripe varieties of apples are most suitable for mashed potatoes.
- If applesauce is prepared for a child, then you should not choose red fruits, as they can provoke allergies. Give preference to green and yellow apples.
- Before starting to mash, remove any damage, skin, stalks and testes.
- Remember to rinse the apples thoroughly, even if they are from your own garden.
- If the apples are sweet varieties, then they can be prepared without sugar.
- To prevent your mashed potatoes from burning, use a pan with thick walls and a bottom.
- Beat the mass only after it cools down, but pack it up in jars only in hot form.
- Do not forget to sterilize the lids and jars before preparing the mash so that mold does not form.
- Store the finished mashed potatoes at a low temperature, and indoors without direct sunlight.
