Ingredients
Millet groats | 100 g |
Milk | 650 ml |
Pumpkin | 150-200 g |
Sugar | 1-2 tbsp. l |
Salt | taste |
Butter (ghee) | 1 tbsp. l |
Step cooking
- We prepare the ingredients. We get the butter and milk before cooking, so that the milk becomes at room temperature, and the butter is slightly thawed. You can melt it in the microwave immediately before introducing it into the porridge, but it should also be at room temperature. We rinse the cereal until the water becomes clear.
- Pour washed grains for 5 minutes with boiling water. We wash the pumpkin and chop it. We remove the middle and with the help of a peeler or knife we cut off the peel.
- Rub the pumpkin on a coarse grater.
- We take the bowl from the multicooker and grease the side walls of the bowl with butter. Set the bowl in the slow cooker and put the groats in the bowl. Add the grated pumpkin there.
- Add a little salt, sugar, butter and mix well. Pour all the ingredients with milk.
- Turn on the multicooker by closing it with a lid. We set the cooking mode or similar, depending on your slow cooker. We turn on the “porridge” mode, set the cooking time to 40 minutes and press “start”.
- We are waiting for the porridge to cook. Done! Enjoy your meal!
Variations of cooking and decorating dishes
Millet porridge with pumpkin is not only very tasty, but also very useful, because there are so many vitamins and other components important for the human body. However, you can make porridge even more healthy by adding some of additional ingredients:
- raisins;
- candied fruit;
- figs;
- dried apricots;
- banana;
- dates;
- kiwi;
- apples
- almond;
- peanut;
- hazelnut;
- cashew nuts.
You can cook porridge both in a slow cooker and in a pan, but the recipe will be a little different. Still, you don’t need to follow the multicooker, but you definitely need to see how porridge is cooked in the pan, because porridge can “run away” with milk. If you wish, you can make porridge more liquid, and for this you will need to add not 650 milliliters of milk, but about 800 milliliters. Be sure to try to make such a mess, and you will definitely like it!
