Ingredients
- Honey - 165 g
- Sugar - 100 g
- Cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- Grated ginger - 1 tsp.
- Nutmeg - 0.5 tsp.
- Soda - 2 tsp.
- Butter - 125 g
- Eggs - 2 pcs.
- Flour - 400 g
- Icing sugar - 200 g
Step cooking
- In a small deep saucepan, mix 100 g of sugar, 165 g of honey, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground ginger and 1 tsp. nutmeg.
- Put the container on the fire and, stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
- After boiling, keep the composition on fire for about a minute, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Pour the hot mass into a large container and add 2 tsp. soda. Mix everything well.
- Next, add 12 g butter at room temperature. Also, mix well until smooth.
- In a barely warm mass, add 1 egg and knead everything.
- Gradually add 400 g of sifted flour to the composition and carefully knead a soft, elastic dough.
- Wrap the finished dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Print on a printer and cut out paper stencils, which will serve as the basis for the formation of the elements of the gingerbread house. Roll out the dough according to your stencils. Try to cut everything as evenly as possible. Use a pizza knife for that.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and send the finished parts to bake for 10 minutes.
- Prepare the icing to help put together all the details. To do this, in a large container, beat 1 egg white and add 200 g of powdered sugar. Stir the composition to obtain a homogeneous mass. Beat the resulting mass with a mixer at low speed for 2-3 minutes. it should become more white and uniform.
- Circle each part of your house with icing. Use a confectionery syringe for that. With it, make additional patterns on the walls of the house.
- Cut the edges of the parts so that they are even. So it will be easier to connect your gingerbread house.
- Using icing, connect all the elements of the house. Use glasses for an emphasis that walls did not fall until the glaze completely hardens.
