Step cooking
- One kilogram of my fresh plums under running water, remove the seeds from them.
- Then we cut a plum peeled in small slices with a knife. We cut each plum into about four parts.
- In a dry glass jar with a twisting lid with a capacity of two liters, lay fresh plums cut into slices.
- Fill the plums placed in the jar with vodka so that the vodka slightly covers the plums in the jar. Shake the plum jar several times so that the vodka can penetrate well into the plums, completely cover them.
- We close the jar with plums and vodka lid, tightly twist it and send the future plum filling in a dark cool place for one month.
- After one month, we take out the jar from a dark, cool place: it is time to strain the infusion. We put a colander on a deep pan, cover it with gauze. We filter the infusion. Plums, without wringing, are placed again in a jar, and the liquid, that is, the filling, is poured into another glass jar.
- Add 300 grams of granulated sugar to the jar with plums, put it again in a cool dark place for another week: let the infusion absorb everything that remains in the plum. Stir the plums should not be porridge. We twist the jar with a lid.
- A week has passed. Sugar completely dissolved, absorbed all the aroma, it is time to filter the infusion. Filter the plum sugar infusion through cheesecloth.
- In a separate container, mix sugar and vodka infusion from plums. For the full readiness of the cream, it must be placed in a dark, cool place for another month.
- Slivyanka should be filtered through cotton wool before using it.
Trying the plum tincture, which we made ourselves, we feel that it has a plum-woody smell with a slight hint of almonds at the end, thick in consistency.
Useful Tips
- For the preparation of plum tincture, you can use any sort of plum, it is good that they are sweet and fragrant.
- Slivyanka can be very tasty if you add a nut infusion into it, and even better cognac - it turns out just a gorgeous drink.
- Having prepared the cream in the fall, let it stand until the new year. On New Year's Eve you can treat your guests with home-made tincture.
