wheat flour 500-600 g
margarine or butter 300 g
water 180 ml
chicken egg 1 PC.
baking powder 1 tsp

Step cooking

  1. Cut 300 g of margarine into small pieces, put them in a saucepan and send to the stove to completely melt over low heat. Stir constantly, and do not bring to a boil. Optionally, instead of margarine, you can take butter. Also boil approximately 180 ml of water in advance and let it cool completely.

  2. Pour the melted margarine into a deep bowl. Pour 180 ml of cold boiled water into it. In a bowl, beat one egg with a fork and pour it into a bowl. Add about a teaspoon of baking powder to all ingredients and mix well until smooth.

    Instead of baking powder, you can use 0.5 tsp. soda topped in a tablespoon of vinegar. A small foam will appear, but after mixing it will disappear. If you wish, you can add a pinch of salt or a little sugar if you plan to make the pastries sweet.
  3. Then, using a sieve, gradually sift about 500-550 g of flour into a bowl and mix well with a spoon in a circular motion. When the dough becomes thicker, continue to knead it with your hands until it stops sticking to your hands and becomes a uniform smooth lump. If necessary, add some more flour.

  4. Then cover the bowl with a lid or plate and refrigerate for about 40-45 minutes. If you accidentally overexposed the dough in the refrigerator and it has cooled down, it can be hard to roll out. In this case, let it lie for about 7-8 minutes at room temperature. After this time, the yeast-free fresh dough is ready for use.
