Ingredients

chicken breast | 300 g |

cabbage | 150 g |

kefir 1% | 50 ml |
low-fat sour cream | 100 g |
garlic | 2 tooth. |
dill | taste |
salt | pinch |
pepper | pinch |
Step cooking
- We wash the chicken fillet weighing 300 g and cut into small pieces.
- Add to the fillet 1 tbsp. l olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Mix the meat well and leave for 15 minutes for marinating.
- We take 1 tomato and 2 medium cucumbers, wash them and cut into half rings.
- Peel 1 onion and chop it the same way as the rest of the vegetables.
- Finely chop 150 g of cabbage and slightly crush it with your hands.
- Fry the pickled chicken in a pan without adding vegetable oil.
- In a deep bowl, mix 50 ml of kefir and 100 g of sour cream.
- There we add 2 cloves of garlic, passed through a press. Finely chop a bunch of dill and send it to the kefir-sour cream mixture. Add salt and pepper to the ingredients to taste and mix thoroughly.
- Grease a sheet of pita bread with the finished sauce.
- On one side of the pita bread lay the fried chicken, cabbage, onions, cucumbers and tomatoes in layers.
- We turn everything into a roll.
- Fry it on both sides in a pan without using oil.
- We do the same with the second sheet of pita bread. PP shawarma is ready to eat!
Useful Tips
Observing the following simple recommendations, you can make your shawarma even more healthy and tastier:
- Choose only high-quality pita bread, which should be strong enough to prevent the filling from falling out.
- Be sure to marinate the chicken breast so that it is not too dry. If you have enough time, it is best to do this for at least 30 minutes.
- In addition to traditional salt and pepper, you can add coriander, basil or turmeric to shawarma. Spicy spices will give your dish a more piquant taste.
- Be sure to lay the ingredients in pita bread in layers to get the right shawarma structure.
