Step cooking
- First you need to sift the flour. Then pour raisins with boiling water for 5 minutes. Then we drain the water and spread the raisins on paper towels to remove excess fluid.
- In a deep bowl, mix sugar and vegetable oil. Vegetable oil must be taken refined and deodorized, that is, odorless. It is better to use ordinary sunflower, but you can add olive if desired.
- On a fine grater for sugar and butter, rub the zest of 1 medium-sized orange.
- Using a citrus juice squeezer, squeeze the orange juice. In total, we need 1 tbsp. juice or 200 ml. If there is little juice, you can add water.
- Next, add soaked raisins to the bowl, as well as orange juice.
- Then quench the soda with vinegar and also add to the rest of the ingredients. We try to do this quickly, until the reaction is over and air bubbles are released. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- After that, we introduce the pre-sifted flour in parts and knead the dough.
- The consistency of the dough is quite liquid, somewhat similar to a very thick sour cream. If you see that the dough turns out to be too liquid, you can add a little more flour, but you don’t need to fill it with flour too much. Make sure that no lumps of flour remain in the dough. They are easily confused with raisins.
- Lubricate the cake pan with vegetable oil. If desired, you can spray with oil spray.
- We spread the dough into a mold. Carefully level the top with a spatula.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. We set the form with the dough in a preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes. The total cooking time depends on the characteristics of each individual oven and its power.
- Leave to cool, and then sprinkle with powdered sugar. This fragrant and delicate pastry goes well with tea or coffee and is perfect for family and friendly gatherings. Enjoy your meal.
