Step cooking
- To begin with, wash the orange and lemon well, because hygiene is very important at all stages of preparing any dish. After this, pour boiling water over them and prepare to rub the zest. Place a fine grater on a plate and get 0.5 teaspoon of zest from both orange and lemon.
- Sift wheat flour in a separate bowl to get rid of lumps as much as possible. Add three teaspoons of baking powder and a pinch of vanillin to the flour. Mix everything.
- Pour vegetable oil into a clean bowl. Add to it the juice that you like best. We used apple-grape, as cookies will turn out to be especially fragrant with it, but you can replace it with apricot, orange or pure apple.
- In a container with liquid components, add the zest of orange and lemon, as well as 80 g of sugar and a pinch of salt. Stir the resulting substance thoroughly. Slowly introduce the bulk components of our dish, kneading the dough. It should turn out soft and oily, but not stick to your hands.
- Divide the dough into small pieces, from which roll balls with a diameter of about 4 centimeters. The size depends on how large slices of marmalade you have chosen for the filling.
- Flatten each ball into a cake. Its thickness should be from 3 to 5 millimeters.
- On top of the dough we put marmalade, slightly shifting it to one side. Then we cover the marmalade with the second half of the tortilla, like a blanket, giving the liver the shape of a dumpling.
- Pinch the edges and walk along them with the tips of the cloves of the fork, pressing two layers against each other and leaving beautiful traces of stripes.
- Cover the baking sheet with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Put the cookie blanks on paper and place in the oven for 10 minutes without convection.
- After 10 minutes, turn off convection and leave the cookies for another 7 minutes, until a light golden color appears. In case your oven does not have this mode, consider its features and look after the cookies during baking. Remove the prepared cookies and let cool slightly. Its aroma will not leave anyone indifferent!
