Kitchen appliances and utensils
- kitchen grater;
- cutting board;
- sharp knife;
- plates for ingredients;
- garlic clover.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 6 pcs.
- Hard cheese - 100 g
- Fresh dill - 1 bunch
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Mayonnaise - 2-3 tbsp. l
Step cooking
- The first step is to prepare the filling for the tomatoes. Take 100 grams of hard cheese, grate it on a shallow kitchen grater and put in a deep plate. Select a cheese variety based on your personal preferences, but it is best to dwell on hard varieties.
- Next, take 1 bunch of fresh dill, thoroughly rinse it under running water and finely chop on a cutting board. Sliced dill is placed in a plate to grated cheese.
- Now take 2 medium cloves of garlic, peel them, pass through the garlic press and add to the plate to the cheese and dill.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a kitchen spoon. You can add salt to your taste, but we won’t do this in this recipe. Focus on your own taste.
- Next, add 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise to the stuffed plate and mix thoroughly again. Prefer not too fat mayonnaise, about 30%.
- We take 6 medium tomatoes, thoroughly rinse them under running water and cut them across into circles of about 7-9 millimeters thick. Put the top and bottom aside, and put the chopped tomatoes next to each other on a large plate.
- Now we spread 1 teaspoon of the filling for each tomato.
- We decorate the tomatoes with herbs if desired and serve. Enjoy your meal!
Tips for the hostess
- Before buying tomatoes, be sure to inspect the stem: it should be without a greenish tint - this means that the fruit was picked before it ripened.
- A tomato that is too hard to the touch indicates its immaturity, but too soft, on the contrary, the fruit is overripe.
- If the tomato has a too thick peel, then this indicates that it was grown with a lot of nitrates, which are best not to be consumed, especially for children.
- The best indicator of maturity and freshness is smell. If it is weak or completely absent, then you have an unripe fruit that is unlikely to be tasty, but a rich, pronounced aroma indicates that the tomato is ripe and ready to eat.
- To keep tomatoes better, buy them with the stalk. Ripe tomatoes are usually stored for no more than 3 days at room temperature, and in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
