Step cooking
Pilaf in pots of chicken is not a traditional version of this dish. However, the availability of products, the ease and simplicity of preparation make this recipe very popular. In the oven, the dish is very aromatic and tasty.
- Wash the chicken (300 g), dry with a paper towel. Cut the meat into cubes measuring approximately 2.5 cm × 2.5 cm.
- Peel the onion (1 pc.), Cut into small cubes. Wash and peel the carrots (1 pc.). Cut the carrots into small cubes, with a side of about 7-8 mm.
- Put onion, carrots and chopped fillet in a pan. Add vegetable oil (40-50 ml). Shuffle.
- Fry over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring all the time until the pieces of onion get a golden color.
- Divide the mixture of chicken meat with vegetables into two equal portions, transfer to pots (2 pcs.).
- Wash the rice (6 tbsp. L.). Put half the rice (3 tbsp. L.) In each pot of meat with vegetables. Smooth the rice surface with a spoon. Pour hot water (300-400 ml), the water level in each pot should be 2 cm above the surface of the rice.
- Salt the contents of the pots (to taste).
- Add black pepper peas in each pot (7-8 pcs.). Put a bay leaf (1 pc.).
- Cover the pots with lids, put in a small baking sheet.
- Cook in an oven heated to 200 ° C for 30-40 minutes. Cooking time depends on the variety of rice. If you take steamed rice, pilaf cooks faster.
When cooking pilaf in the oven, various seasonings and herbs are also used. You can add tomatoes, bell peppers and other ingredients as you wish. Instead of chicken, you can take other parts of the chicken carcass: meat from the drumstick, thighs, wings, legs. If desired, serving pilaf on the table, sprinkle it with finely chopped herbs (not specified in the recipe).
