Step cooking

- The next day, drain the water, throwing the cereal into a colander, and rinse thoroughly. Pour the cereal into a pot with a thick bottom. Next, pour pure water in a ratio of 1: 3, that is, 1.5 stacks. cereals we need 1 liter of water. We put the pan on the fire to cook.
- In the meantime, we move on to preparing the remaining ingredients. Peel the 2 medium onions from the husks and cut into small cubes.
- Peel the carrots from the skin and rub on a coarse grater.
- Next, cut into small cubes 400 g of meat. You can use any relatively lean meat.
- When the porridge boils, add salt to taste and mix. Leave to simmer for 40 minutes until soft.
- Add a little vegetable oil to the pan and heat it well. We put chopped onions, grated carrots on a hot pan and fry until light golden.
- After that, add meat to onions and carrots. First, the meat needs to be fried, and then stew with spices. It is better to take a thick-walled large frying pan, you can even cast iron, since we will also cook the main dish in a pan, and cast iron keeps the temperature perfectly.
- When the meat is fried, salt it and add spices. It can be black pepper, a mixture of peppers, hops, suneli, seasoning for meat or any other collection of spices according to your desire.
- Then pour 300 ml of water into the meat and simmer for 30 minutes. During this time, barley will have time to boil.
- If excess liquid remains in the prepared pearl barley, it must be filtered through a colander. Put the barley in a pan with meat and mix thoroughly. Stew for another 5 minutes and cover.
- It is desirable to leave the pearl barley pilaf before serving on the table in a frying pan under the lid for at least 1 hour, so that it can infuse and soak the meat juices. Enjoy your meal.
