Ingredients

pearl barley | 200 g |
leek | 3 pcs. |

vegetable oil | 50 ml |
salt | 2 tsp |
water | 500 ml |
Step cooking
- We rinse 200 g of barley and soak it in cold water for 30 minutes.
- Randomly chop 500 g of pork or any other meat.
- We send the pork to a deep pan, add 50 ml of vegetable oil to it, 1 tsp. salts and spices to taste. Fry the meat over medium heat.
- We boil 500 ml of water. Cut into medium cubes 3 onion heads.
- Grate 3 carrots on a coarse grater.
- We send chopped onions over the meat and evenly distribute it. We also spread the grated carrots in a layer. Following the vegetables, add the pearl barley to the pan and fill it with boiled hot water, the level of which should be 1 cm above the level of the cereal.
- Let the ingredients stand under the lid for 5 minutes.
- After the allotted time, add 1 tsp to the pan. salt, cover everything again and cook for 25 minutes. We mix the finished dish, and we can serve it on the table.
How to choose the groats
There are three different types of pearl barley:
- Barley. Suitable for making cereals, soups or as a filling.
- Dutch woman. Such cereals are cooked much faster than barley.
- Barley grits. It is best suited for cooking diet foods, as it is very finely chopped, and well-digested. Such porridge does not clog the stomach and helps cleanse of toxins and toxins.
