Step cooking
Filling
- Peel 1 onion from the husk and cut it into small cubes.
- Pour 1-2 tbsp into the pan. l vegetable oil, put on medium heat and send the fried onions.
- At this time, peel the carrots and rub it on a coarse grater. When the onion is fried until light, add the grated carrots to the pan, mix and continue cooking.
- We wash the cabbage and remove the unsuitable top leaves. First, cut it into small strips, like borsch, and then divide it into several pieces across so that the pieces are 3-4 cm long.
- We put the cabbage in a deep container, add salt to it to taste and squeeze it so that the juice stands out.
- When the carrots become soft, put the cabbage in the pan, salt again, add black ground pepper and other spices as you wish. The taste of cabbage is perfectly complemented by bay leaves, coriander, marjoram, caraway seeds, granulated garlic, dill, although you can add anything.
- Also add 3-4 tbsp. l tomato sauce or pasta. Mix everything thoroughly, add about 100 ml of water, cover the pan with a lid and leave the vegetables to simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes. The finished filling should turn out to be soft, aromatic, reddish due to tomato sauce.
Pies
- Take 1 kg of yeast dough. You can either cook it at home or buy it in a store or supermarket. Knead it into an oblong "sausage". We divide the whole dough into small portioned portions. About 12-15 pieces will be obtained from such a volume.
- Knead each piece of dough with your hands or a rolling pin into a flat cake with a thickness of 3-5 mm. So that the dough is not sticky, sprinkle the work surface with flour or wet our hands with vegetable oil.
- In the middle of each piece we put 1 tbsp. l fillings and carefully connect the edges of the pie so that it does not creep out during baking.
- We cover the baking sheet with baking paper, put the pies on it with the seam down. Mix the chicken egg slightly until smooth and grease the pies with a culinary brush.
- Preheat the oven to 180-190ºС and send pies into it for 15-20 minutes. The degree of readiness is checked by rosy roasted top.
- Take the pies out of the oven and let them cool. Serve with fresh herbs, tomato, white and other sauces, salt. Such pies will look very tasty with a cup of chicken broth, but you can take tea, coffee, milk, juice and other drinks.
