Step cooking
- First, prepare the filling for the pies. To do this, take one large onion, peel it from the husk, wash it under the tap, cut finely on a cutting board, set aside. We peel one medium carrot from the skin, wash it under running water, rub on a coarse grater, set aside.
- We turn on the stove, put a frying pan on it, pour 50 ml of vegetable oil, heat almost to a boil, send the chopped onion there. Mix with a spoon, after one to two minutes, put the carrots in the pan. Fry vegetables on low heat until soft.
- When the vegetables are soft, put 300 grams of minced meat in a pan. Fry the minced meat along with carrots and onions, carefully kneading the meatballs with a spoon to achieve uniformity. It is necessary to fry for 10-12 minutes. 2-3 minutes before the filling is ready, add ½ teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of black pepper, 2-3 pinchs of seasoning for meat.
- We remove the finished filling for pies from the stove, set aside, let it cool. We turn to the preparation of potato dough. 600 grams of boiled potatoes in their uniforms are peeled, rubbed on a coarse grater, and placed in a separate container. Add one raw egg, 200 grams of previously sifted wheat flour, ½ teaspoon of salt and black pepper. Knead the dough first with a spatula, and then put it on the table, knead with hands until smooth.
- Sprinkle the surface of the kitchen table with flour, put the dough on the table, roll in a little flour, divide into parts for convenience.
- Roll out each part with a sausage, cut into portioned slices. From the pieces we make small cakes, put a little mincemeat on it, pinch the edges, turn it upside down.
- We send a large frying pan to the fire, pour 400-450 ml of vegetable oil, heat almost to a boil, put the pies there. Fry each pie until rosy on both sides.
Useful Tips
- For stuffing pies, you can use any minced meat.
- To make the meat more homogeneous, after frying and cooling it can be grind in a meat grinder.
- It will be nice to add finely chopped dill, parsley to the filling.
- Use refined oil to fry pastries, check the smell and taste of this product before frying.
