Step cooking
- To make a pie, you need 400 g of salmon fillet. You can also use other red fish that you like best. We cut the fish into small cubes.
- Place chopped salmon in a deep bowl, add salt to taste. Add a pinch of sugar and the same amount of black pepper to the fish. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and leave to marinate for at least a quarter of an hour. Fish should absorb salt and sugar well.
- Peel 3 medium-sized onions from the husks and rinse. Cut the vegetable into quarters.
- We put the pan on fire, watering 1 tbsp. l vegetable oil. Pour the chopped onion into a heated pan and fry until it gains a golden hue.
- To prepare a pie with salmon, you can use homemade or purchased puff pastry in an amount of 250 g. If you purchased the latter, then you must first thaw it at room temperature. Pour on a flat surface 2-3 tbsp. l flour and using a rolling pin we roll out the dough until it becomes rectangular in size of 30 x 20 cm.
- In the middle of the dough, spread the fried onions.
- On top of the onion, spread all the fillets.
- The remaining edges of the dough are cut diagonally into strips whose width is about 2 cm.
- We twist the sliced dough strips in the same way as weaving a braid. The dough should completely cover the whole fish filling.
- In a separate small bowl, beat the yolk until smooth, and with a silicone brush, coat the cake on top. Thus, it will turn out ruddy and with a delicious crust.
- We shift the salmon pie onto a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Pre-grease paper 1 tbsp. l vegetable oil to prevent the cake from sticking. We put the baking tray with the pie in the oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
- We take out the finished cake from the oven, cut into pieces and serve hot on a beautiful dish.
