- Send the poppy into a deep bowl, add 130 g of sugar, mix thoroughly and set aside.
Cooking dough
- Melt 50 g of butter. This can be done on the stove in thick-bottomed dishes or in the microwave. Pour the melted butter into a deep bowl, add 1 tbsp to it. l sugar and a pinch of salt, mix well. Pour 125 milk, continue to mix. Then we drive in one chicken egg, mix the resulting mass until smooth.
- Sift 350 g of flour, portionwise add it to the resulting oil mixture, knead the dough. The dough is soft and elastic. If you think that there is little flour, add a little more, 1-2 tbsp. l The amount of flour for each will be different, it depends on the size of the egg, the humidity of the flour itself.
- As a result, we get a dough that does not stick to hands, malleable in work. Then we send the dough to the working surface, roll it out with our hands, give it a rest for 10 minutes.
We form, bake a pie
- Melt 100 g of butter, let cool a little while we are rolling out the dough. Sprinkle the working surface with a small amount of flour, roll the dough on it with a layer, the thickness of which is about 2-3 mm. The taste of the cake will depend on the thickness of the dough, so the finer you can roll it, the tastier the dessert will be.
- Using a silicone brush, grease the entire surface of the formation with melted butter.
- Then sprinkle the entire surface of the workpiece with plenty of poppy seed filling. With your hands, slightly press the poppy layer to the dough, distribute it evenly.
- Then we take the right edge of the formation and bend it to the middle, do it carefully, align. Then pull the left edge of the dough to the middle, align. The edges can overlap, as expected, do not worry. How to do it right, look at the photo.
- Lubricate the dough with melted butter, sprinkle with plenty of poppy seed filling, level it evenly with your hands, squeeze a little.
- Then we fold the dough in half, align the layer, grease profusely with butter, apply poppy seeds with sugar.
- Then we fold the dough across in half, grease with butter on top. We shift to a baking sheet, which is covered with parchment.
- We send to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 40 minutes. The cake is still warm, you can cut into portions, let it cool slightly, and can be served.
