- To start, boil 5 eggs. To do this, fill them with water, send to the fire. After boiling, make the fire small and cook for 7-8 minutes. After this, we drain the hot water, fill it with cold, let them cool, and peel it.
- We clean 3-4 bulbs, their quantity depends on your preferences and the size of vegetables. Cut into thin half rings. We put a frying pan on the stove, pour vegetable oil, let it heat, send the onion, fry until golden.
- We cut a small head of cabbage or a kilogram finely, it is better to do this with a shredder. If this is not the case, try to cut the strips as thin as possible with a knife. If you use already old cabbage for cooking, salt it a little and remember with your hands. Then after cooking it will be soft. With young cabbage, such manipulations are not necessary.
- We send the cabbage into the pan to the onion, mix so that the onion does not remain below, otherwise it may burn. We make the fire a little less than average, cover with a lid and simmer for several minutes until the cabbage is soft. Then remove the lid, add a little vegetable oil, bay leaf and a mixture or black pepper to taste. Mix and simmer until cooked. If desired, add more spices, mix and leave ready to cool.
You can determine the willingness of cabbage to taste. It will become soft, will not crunch on the teeth. - At this time, we cut the boiled eggs into small cubes according to the principle: the smaller, the better. We combine the cooled cabbage with eggs, mix thoroughly. At the same time, we remove the bay leaf from the filling.
We make a pie
Take a kilogram of puff, yeast dough. We used a storefront, you can cook it yourself. In principle, you can use the dough as you wish.
We divide it into two equal parts or, if there is a large form, use everything at once. We will show you two ways to wrap a cabbage pie. You can do as well or choose one of the ways.
First way
- Rolls the dough in a layer, about 1-1.5 cm. In the middle we lay out the filling, disband so that the edges of the dough remain free.
- We put our hands under the dough and connect two opposite parts of it, like a pie. We open the side open sides too, we can even flatten it a bit for beauty.
- We cover the baking sheet with parchment, put the pie on it with the seam down. Wrap the edges of the pie under the bottom, align the sides with your hands so that you get a uniform rectangle.
Second way
- Roll out a dough of about 0.5 cm thick from the dough. Put the filling in the middle and distribute so that the lower sides remain 3 cm free, and the edges remain empty on the left and right, about 6-7 cm. - When slicing, the thickness and number of strips should be the same. Then we close the top edge of the pie with the dough, and we twist the strips of dough between them obliquely, like a pigtail.
Bake
- Then we send the pie (s) on a baking sheet, leave for 10 minutes to make the dough come up. At this time, we heat the oven 200 degrees, send the cake (s) to bake for 20 minutes. If the oven is gas, it may take a little longer to bake, but not more than half an hour.
